Accomplished What I Was Looking For (15/03/2013)

These were still a fairly new and little reviewed product at the time I ordered them. I ordered two (2) sets to fully cover my older model Troy TRX 11" free floating hand guard. Some cutting and trimming was necessary only because I also have a grip pod and QD sling mounted on the rail. This was easily done with toenail clippers - which I highly recommend. Installation was pretty easy, and the grips are easily removable, but they seem to stay in place during normal use without any issues. These don't seem to thicken the feel of the Troy hand guard by too much, but do add a bit of extra grip that at the same time doesn't prevent your hand from freely sliding up and down the length of the hand guard when necessary. These also provide some ding and scratch damage protection for your Troy TRX hand guard, which is one of the main reasons I got these in the first place. Buying two (2) sets of these was a bit pricey for what they are, especially combined with the Brownells S&H fees that are a bit high for small purchases. You probably will only really need one set of these, but I personally prefer how the Troy TRX free floating hand guard looks when completely covered in squid grips.

Functional and looks good too (07/01/2014)

This grip enhancement is great. I intalled these on my Troy Alpha Battle Rail with no problem. They have a great feel to my bare hand and look really cool on my weapon. I'm sure they would perform better with gloves. I have cycled about 300 rounds through my rifle and have not had any issues with heat.
