Wow.(02/03/2011)
First, a safety that you can use while hunting! That is the main reason I bought this trigger. I never took my weapon hunting because of the dang Mosin safety. Now with target in sight it's a quick little flick of the thumb. Second, accuracy is increased because the pull is way lighter than military, but we all knew that part. You will need to remove some wood, but other than that (which is easy) the rest of the installation is simpler than sneezing.
Easy to install!!(22/04/2012)
It was so simple to install it was rediculous. Having a thumb safety on my Mosin Nagant plus having a 3 pound trigger pull is way nicer than a 7 pound one. You will have to remove material in order to fit in a standard Mosin Nagant stock, but it is well worth it.
I would buy this agian very good trigger(23/01/2013)
If you have a mosin this is a must have. The best trigger feel very very good product thank you...

awesome improvement on my 91/30 n the safety is great. was a little more work then I thought but after installing the first 1 the rest were a breeze. the response from u was quick n delivery was in only 2 days. I would suggest u to everybody
No comparison(23/05/2014)
Just ordered my second Timney for the 91/30. It worked so well in my rifle that I bought one for dad. There is no way to describe the difference in trigger pull between the Timney and the stock trigger. In my opinion, this is a must-do upgrade for any Mosin-Nagant.
Okay for the price.(29/05/2014)
The trigger is a huge improvement for the mosin. It takes a near-15lb trigger pull and tunes it down to 3.5. However, sloppy workmanship such as the trigger's overly sharp corners, which make for an uncomfortable trigger pull, are evidence that Timney didn't actually want to build this trigger. They built this piece due to demand, and made a trigger that works so they could fulfill that market, but there was definitely no vision put into this project. Another company, which actually does have vision, sells a trigger shoe you can slip over it to fix this problem.

I am a retired engineer and I have evaluated a number of Mosin trigger modifications and aftermarket triggers.
.....1) Buy the Timney.
..a) pros: Lowest trigger pull, best trigger pull, and it adds a safety.
..b) cons: takes up space. Costs money. Must relieve the rear pillar [if you make one] see attached drawing I made.
......2) Bend the sear spring some, but maintain full engagement.
While I am not a Gunsmith I would describe myself as an advanced DIY'er. This is the second Timney trigger I have installed, the last going into a K98 Mauser using the original stock. This trigger went into M44 Mosin Carbine. The trigger axle pin was a tight fit (good) needing slight polishing to fit. The biggest job was inletting the stock which took about 90 minutes using a Dremel Tool. I used the common cutter that is included in most Dremel kits. Because the hole to be inletted is quite deep I used the Dremel flex shaft tor better clearance. Cutting the relief for the safety was the last thing I did. I found it easier to do about 90% of the job with the trigger pack dismounted from the rifle. I could see more clearly where the wood was still blocking. It did cut the trigger pull in half without changing the factory setting and it now breaks like a glass rod. Take you r time and you will get a good result.
Unreal, must have for both accuracy and (22/06/2017)
Picked up a Mosin and after dry firing it I immediately looked into trigger jobs, found there was a drop in and ordered it along with an arch angel stock. This trigger is unreal, 0 take up, breaks like glass. Install was simple, remove a screw, a pin, and the old trigger pieces. Drop in the new trigger, install pin, then the screw, and then a set screw. I have a marlin with a pretty stiff trigger that causes me to occasionally pull my shots and the marlin is still smoother than the original Mosin. Definitely recommend
