huge improvement(15/02/2014)
The front and rear sight combo from Nodak Spud are a HUGE improvement over the factory sights. I have them mounted on a 10/22 takedown. From a bench at 50 yards, I am stacking rounds one on top of another. My last trip to the range, shooting off hand at 25 yards, I drew a smiley face :) The sights are easy to mount and adjust. They sit higher than the stock sights, which may be useful if you are using an aftermarket stock. The rear sight and rail allow you to use optics as well. I am using see-through rings with a 2-6x scope.
A MUST HAVE(18/06/2016)
Very First use: I was able to shoot a 2" group with the combined NDS front and rear sight system at 100 yds using a Steady Rest. Key Words: "Was ABLE" ! At 64 I "never" bother shooting more than 50 yds with Iron Sights. With the NDS system I had to tell myself to STOP and get OUT of the July TEXAS HEAT. My only frustration or complaint was the overall lateral fit over the Ruger front sight base and band. The NDS front sight has (or leaves) a lot of daylight around and over said Ruger base and I "believe" that is more of a Ruger non CNC, manufacture to specific specs, front sight and band or I am sure NDS would machine to closer tolerances as the NDS rear sight and rail is "EXACT". That loose fit made it tricky to align the front sight with the rear peep before snugging down the two set screws. Pricey for a front sight given the loose tolerance ? I think so but it's a one-time purchase, I fill the gaps to deter gunk and rust collection and... I expect to GIT my money back MANY times over from a rifle that... formerly... I wouldn't bother to shoot.
