This is what you need.(16/06/2011)
I needed an updated M&P sear block with the larger factory plunger and spring, this is what APEX recommends when installing their FSS trigger.
Exactly what I wanted.(23/06/2011)
I wanted to upgrade my carry guns sear housing block to the one with the larger sear spring and plunger. I was very pleased to see the large spring and plunger underneath the sear.
OEM replacement part(06/12/2012)
The part seems to be of high quality and was a direct replacement for my older style block. However, you should be aware that this block includes a magazine disconnect and a frame locking mechanism. The magazine disconnect is easy to remove, and using parts from your old block to put it together. However I'm not sure if you can remove the internal locking mechanism.
Must have item (07/11/2014)
Must have item for MP owners, you don't know when you need it. The IS was very easy to remove.
Not what I thought(15/03/2015)
This is the seat housing block for the m&p, but according to the reviews and questions answered I was expecting it to have a 1/8" plunger that is recommended for the apex FFS KIT. It came with the 1/16" plunger instead. Very disappointed
Updated part(27/11/2015)
This sear block DOES include the newer updated 1/8" sear spring. If you have the older model M&P this will update it to the newer stronger sear spring required for Apex trigger components. I'm not sure why the other reviewer said his didn't come with the larger spring because mine did.
This model also comes with magazine sear disconnect installed but can be easily removed by transferring over your old parts to the new block.
The internal locking mechanism can also be removed with a punch and a couple taps with a hammer.

1/8" Sear Housing Block(18/12/2015)
Received this sear housing block today and it does have the 1/8" spring and plunger installed. I'm upgrading the 1/16" sear housing block in my 5" Pro Series and will use the sear from it. Will also be removing the magazine disconnect.
Did not work (24/09/2016)
I had the sear housing block with the smaller spring and plunger. I installed the FSS kit by Apex using the small spring and plunger but the APEX sear. The gun functioned when tested and fired all 50 rounds without a malfunction. I put in this sear block from brownells and the trigger does not go off and does not reset . It pulls but nothing happens . What's going on ?
Has 1/8" plunger (and frame lock)(01/09/2017)
This does have the new 1/8" plunger which is what I needed for the Apex trigger. The block also added a magazine safety and frame lock which were not on my pistol originally. I point that out because mine can locked and I didn't realize it before install. I though I installed some wrong until it can to me that it had a frame lock and was engaged. (I noticed the magazine safety before I installed). Luckily I had a Smith and Wesson handcuff key near by and used it to disengaged the frame lock. Worked perfectly once that was done.
Works with apex, but......(06/12/2017)
This will work if you are needing the larger sear spring for apex trigger jobs. As some others have said, you can remove the magazine safety and use your older parts. The catch with this is the frame lock. You can remove by installing sear block in vise and use 1/8 punch to back it out. You can then reuse the RAM from your other sear block assembly or use a new apex one as i did. I did have a challenge installing it with the frame safety plug on the frame. Some grease and prying finally got me there.
