Just right for it's intended purpose.(10/10/2009)
Four stars because it was exactly what I expected.
I bought this sling to go with a pre 64 M70 to use as a carry strap. It would keep the rifle in period.
It arrived with a cardboard backing held in place with zip ties. The brown finished leather is relatively thin, and the brass hardware is decidedly light duty. I would expect it to stretch quickly if subject to the stresses of "slinging up."
Though it would never hold up to the rigors of a proper military sling, it will do just fine for it's intended use as a carry strap. It is good looking and the price is right. With that in mind, I would not hesitate to buy another.
Very Nice sling for the cost.(11/02/2010)
The sling has good quality and it is comfertable when slung.
wrong sling(25/05/2012)
The sling I got was a Butler Creek product not Uncle Mikes, it was not oil finished and had some kind of brown paint like finish on one side and raw leather on the other, with a dark brown edge cote. The sling has the same part number that I ordered. It just looks like a poor substitution to me or an inaccurate discription. I gave it one star because they don't have a no star option.
