VITAL RELOADING DYE(12/10/2013)
I have a kinetic bullet puller but this is vital for the reloader who wants his loads just right.
I could have used this to adapt more loads than I've shot.
There is no way you can be as efficient w/a kinetic puller.
RCBS Collet-style Bullet Puller(20/09/2014)
This is an easy tool to setup and use. It pulls bullets easily, as long as it can get a grip on them. Unfortunately, there are bullet designs that this won't pull, as I quickly discovered.
The bullets you intend to pull MUST have some of the exposed projectile to have the caliber diameter. I ran across some .40 S&W semi-wad cutters that have a reduced diameter truncated cone design that was too small for the collet to grip and the bullet shoulder was seated flush with the case mouth. As is it, I'll have to use an inertia puller, as tedious at that is.
On bullets that can be gripped by the collets, the bullet pulling task is fast and easy. Instructions were clear and precise enough that even a politician could use it.
As it came out of the box, and for the bullets I have tried it on so far, I can only give it 4 stars. Still, it's a puller you should have on your bench.
Very effective tool(14/01/2015)
When needing to pull a lot of bullets w/o damage, this is a very nice tool to have. Wish I had bought one 30 years ago (if they had them). Safer than the hammer method also.
Don't Delay This Purchase(04/04/2015)
I used my fathers old 1970 hammer puller for years only because it was all I knew. On a whim I spent the money on this puller and my only complaint was how mad I was that I waited 6 years to get it. It works like a charm, does not damage bullets like the mentioned 1970 hammer. Before I had this in my life I would dread the thought of pulling bullets from some test loads if they didnt shoot good. Now, I can crank out pulls in Seconds.
Threw the plastic hammer away!(15/11/2015)
As others have said, I also dreaded pulling bullets with the hammer style kinetic puller. And I do alot of reloading late at night. So the noise was a stopping point. I kinda thought this was gimmicky reading descriptions but I jumped in. Got the collets for .45, 22, and 30. Very impressed! So much quicker, no bullet damage. And powder stays in the case neatly. It even pulled some bullets that were seated way to deep and it pulled em. Using copper plated bullets in 45 this did not even expose lead. I actually have a new test with the help of this to check crimp neck tension. Set my crimp and pull bullet measure to make sure there is no swaging or damage. Love these tools that really help more tedious processes of reloading.
Works Great(29/02/2016)
I love this puller. It works great, prevents damage, and won't break off after smacking it. I broke 3 different inertia pullers and spent the money on this. The one complaint I have is the collet I have, 30 cal, is really tight and you have to hold down the top and force the bullet in. Once it's in, cranked down, it won't go anywhere. The other bad side is you cannot remove the bullet without pliers or sticking back inside the case a tad, then removing it by hand. You can slip it over the ogive and crank it down, and that will work, but anything crimped, or with tight neck tension, it won't work that way as it will slide off. However, the perk to his is that I am able to pull 7mm (.284), 270 (.277), 6.5 (.264) bullets with this same collet after cranking it down all the way. I can't complain about that as other that .22 cal, I don't have many other calibers! I would definitely buy again, but I would try to loosen up the tension a little bit if possible.
Great Value(17/04/2018)
The RCBS bullet puller is a good solution to pulling bullets using your existing single stage press. It is well made with a decent finish and solid steel parts. The collets are well made and have a decent amount of steel after the slits to give them good heft and durability.
