Maximum recoil reduction for Long Range Precision Rifles
Three large axisymmetric baffles, each featuring five helical ports, redirect a massive volume of gas away from the bore axis in a counter-clockwise radial direction. This not only provides maximum recoil reduction but also reduces the torsional recoil force associated with heavy bullets and fast twist rates. High tolerance class-3 threads machined in same operation as bore aperture ensures perfect concentricity; this combined with a progressively decreasing baffle thickness and maximized venting area significantly reduce bullet flight disturbance resulting in less yaw, higher BC, and improved accuracy. Computer FEA optimized for maximum strength to weight ratio and impact survivability. Precision CNC machined from high strength HTSR 400-series stainless steel bar for superior heat and corrosion resistance. Can be modified by a qualified gunsmith to fit larger thread diameters (up to 3/4" or 18mm).
SPECS: HTSR 416 stainless steel, HRC 28-32, DLC finish - matte black 1.312" diameter, 2.75" long (.925" dia. at barrel), 5.3 oz. weight. Fits up to .308/7.62mm or 338 caliber rifles with 5/8-24 threads.

WOW This is one great Muzzel Break(11/09/2013)
I bought this to put on my Savage 308 Hog Hunter. The gun is great but a little light for a 308 rifle. Light is good for carrying around. This muzzle break fit perfectly and the gun now shoots like a .223 The recoil is almost non existent. The great thing is that I can move this break around to all of my 308bolt guns and AR type rifles using just one break. Going to get the 223 next.
would buy this product again and again(17/11/2013)
I got this for .30-06 and it helped out tremendously and would buy another one and day of the week. It reduced the felt recoil anywhere from 50-75 percent.
Great muzzle brake(30/07/2018)
I got the brake for my Mossberg LR-T & Thunder Ranch 308 and it works great.
awesome brake!(14/06/2012)
recoil reduction amazing! best brake i have used yet, not sure about torsion reduction though, at least i cant tell shooting from a bi-pod anyway. Finish is super durable, cant be scratched even with a knife
one of the greatest rifle parts ever!!!(18/07/2012)
I put this on my new Savage .308 bolt action. It came threaded and this thing threaded right on. I used a crush washer from the same company, don't know that I needed to. The amount of recoil it takes away is amazing. It made a very acurate rifle more acurate and a pleasure to shoot all day long! The only down side is when shooting at a crowded range the guy next to you will complain about the noise redirected at him.
Wow!!!(02/10/2012)
The brake works very well. I wasn't sure at first due to the lack of reviews( on Brownells and elsewhere online) But the M41 is an excellent choice. I can spot my own shots. It is a little noisy for the guy next to you.... but hey, its a gun range, What do they expect?
Excellent Product
outstanding on scout rifle(10/02/2013)
when I read this item reduces recoil, I thought, "yeah, sure" because I didn't believe there would be a perceptible change. I expected recoil from a bolt action .308 and I didn't think it was so bad.
Now that I have this brake installed on my Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle (which has a short barrel) I would not take it off. I estimate the felt recoil has been reduced on this rifle by more than half.
The muzzle blast is diverted very effectively away from the path of the bullet at 90 degrees. If you are shooting in any proximity to others, for example at a range, they are most definitely going to be affected. The blast has to go somewhere.
So that is the tradeoff. You get less recoil, but no one will want to be at the position next to yours at the range. Does not affect my evaluation of the product, it's not intended for target shooting. It's a remarkable piece of engineering and I highly recommend if it's appropriate for your purposes.
M41 Muzzle Brake(20/06/2013)
I just ordered (another Precision Armaments M41) brake for a new Savage .308 TR. I have one currently installed in a Savage Model 11/111 Hog Hunter in .338 Win Mag. It reduces felt recoil by 50% I would say. Also eliminated muzzle rise and torsion. It is pretty amazing. The .338 feels like a .243 recoil-wise. Very impressed and I would recommend this product all day long.
Really Works!(23/09/2013)
Really reduced the recoil on my Savage Hog Hunter in 308. Its like shooting a 22LR Noise is not much more than normal. I like the fact that I can easily change it from one gun to another. Found an adapter from 5/8X24 to 1/2X28 so I can even move it to my MVP in 5.56 just for kicks. Or lack of.
Not for prone shooting(28/03/2014)
Great recoil reduction however, not very good for prone shooting. The helical ports area about 360 degrees around the brake. When you shoot from the prone position the discharged gas blows dirt and debris in to the shooters face, while generating a plum of dust at your position. If you have a gunsmith clock the brake I'm sure you could reduce some of the downward blast.
Worth it(20/01/2015)
This thing is well worth the money. I am not sure if it improves the grouping by the design or the fact that there is very little recoil allowing you to be comfortable when shooting. I am shooting 165 grains @ 2800 fps and the gun hardly lifts. Almost like shooting the 223 with a hot load.
Like shooting a different gun!(28/03/2015)
This thing is a beast! Threads right on my 700 SPS with a 16.5 in barrel. Only have limited use with it so far and haven't shot groups but standing offhand, I'd say more than 50% recoil reduction and muzzle flip. I put a short clip of with and without the brake on youtube. A lock washer or crush washer is a must. It loosened after each shot. I'll need to buy a few more!
M41 Muzzle brake(19/10/2015)
It is installed on a Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag. It is a MUST to use a Loctite or a crush washer. I am using purple Loctite, no movement after 100 + shots. Without loctite it loosened after a few shots
As far as recoil reduction GREAT I am using a Burris 6.5x20x50 scope. I am still able to see the steel target move after pulling the trigger. Reducing the recoil in a 300 Win Mag that much is a major accomplishment!!!
Best brake for the money!(05/12/2016)
I've fired many brakes but none reduce the recoil as much as this does. Makes a 308 feel like a 223. Accuracy seemed to improve a good bit.
