SPECS: Acier, finition BLEU ou acier inoxydable satiné (S/S). .866" (22mm) de l'arrière du trou jusqu'à la pointe. Disponible en Standard ou Palmswell. Séries 70 ou 80. Un rayon de .250" nécessite une modification du cadre.

Lowers The Pistol's Line Of Sight In Your Hand

Curved shape drops the pistol deeper into the hand and lowers the line of sight for less felt recoil and a faster pointing gun. Wide beavertail shape prevents the hammer from "bit-ing" the web of the hand. Palmswell"! model fea- tures a raised pad that maintains constant hand contact for the shooter using a high thumb hold.

SPECS: Steel, matte BLUE or satin stainless (S/S). .866" (22mm) from rear of hole to tip. Available Standard or Palmswell. Series 70 or 80. .250" radius requires alteration to frame.

This is a well made part that replaced the OEM on a Colt Combat Elite XSE. The arm needed fitting, otherwise, it dropped right it. The palmswell is necessary for me because I shoot with my thumb on top of safety. It disengages positively and is very comfortable.

Product is exactly as described, i suggest getting the jig for it as it makes fitting alot quicker. you still need to fit and shape the finger on the saftey to make sure it engages properly. but with the jig you get the bulk of the work out quicker. i like this product and i would recommend to anyone.

Smith & Alexander grip safety (03/03/2017)

I have fitted many safeties on the 1911s. however this seemed to be the hardest one I have had to do. I bought two for two different 1911 I was working on one was a cheap Philipino model the other was a Colt . and I had the same issues with both. I would not recommend this product unless you like to struggle.

Nice Addition (25/10/2010)

Used on a "scratch built" Government Model on an (iffy?) SS Essex frame. Fitted to frame using S&A's installation jig (Brownell's #849-007-000). Took some fitting to "blend" the contours to frame, but I couldn't be happier with the results. Also requires fitting to get correct safety block at end of trigger bow, so be aware of this.

Installed this on a Springfield GI model. Used the S&A jig which worked very well. It was harder to grind the frame than I thought it would be, but I'm not a gunsmith and was using a dremel tool with a carbide bit. It turned out very well though and was well worth the effort; stopping the hamner bite and looking great. Of course you will need to replace the spur hammer too.

beaver tail for my GI (29/05/2011)

By the jig to keep the angles correct, with the jig it took about an hour to reshape the frame, blend it in and reinstall. I am not a gunsmith ,but am a fair hand with tools. The fitting required for this piece was considerably less than expected. This piece is a slightly shortened beavertail which aids in concealed carry.

Nice finish, Left side needed some grinding on safety and frame. Spent several hours getting the sear clearance correct.

Hammer groove was perfect for a commander hammer.

Bought to Install on GSG 1911 .22 to replicate feel of R1 enhanced. Took some blending on grip and channeling for spring but looked and functioned flawlessly.

This is my 'go to' grip safety for custom work. It allows for a nice high purchase and requires minimal fitting.
