Short 1911 Trigger(18/10/2009)
Having small hands I wanted a short 1911 trigger. I also wanted an over an overtravel stop. I found this product and decided to give it a try. This trigger installed perfectly in my Kimber with absolutely no fitting required.
As Good As It Gets(02/07/2010)
This is a mil-spec trigger with stainless steel bow. The trigger shoe is .920" and tall to fit the clones. Mil-spec is .900". You may have to take that down, BUT, trust me this IS as good as it gets for this type of trigger. While it says "short trigger", it is standard length and width for a 1911 A1 on the dime. Very happy to see this part.
Greider Goodness!(07/09/2010)
Greider triggers are quality parts for the 1911 enthusiast.I prefer the short solid style for my hand size with an arched mainspring housing.Greider provides this short length in a sea of too long 3-hole match style triggers.
I fitted the trigger to a Kimber Series I Custom Classic in about 30 minutes. The trigger bow fit perfectly. The top and bottom of the aluminum trigger needed only minimal dressing on a diamond lap plate. The Greider was fitted perfectly with no play but could travel freely in the trigger frame slot under its own weight. The provided overtravel set screw was easily adjusted.
Onced fitted and installed with safety checks performed,I still had a 4.5lbs trigger break.
Requires fitting in a Kimber(09/11/2010)
I have two of these triggers. One is in my Kimber Ultra Carry II, and the other is in my Kimber Tactical Custom II. Both required about an hour on the file to get them fit. After all, the trigger is oversized and if it doesn't fit out of the box I'm not at all surprised. Once fit they are perfect. I don't think you could ask for a better trigger.
Nice(01/09/2011)
Slightly oversized as indicated but installed easily into my Ruger SR1911 after a few scrapes of the file. Short length of pull great for people with smaller hands and is more appealing to the eye than the long 3 hole triggers. Can't imagine you could find a better manufactured trigger than this.
RIA FS Tactical - Dropped right in(14/01/2012)
This trigger dropped right into the frame with no fitting required. My advice is to install the set-screw and run it down until the head is almost level with the threaded opening. Once installed, it only allows about a 1/4 turn of adjustment at a time.
Solid Product(16/05/2012)
I have bought about a dozen of these trigger to put in all on my 1911. I prefer a short trigger in the pistols because it fits my hand better. Everything from Kimber's, Les Baer's and Wilson Combat pistols. They require a little fitting and work flawlessly. Great product at a great price.
Great For Small Hands(17/10/2012)
This short trigger works great for small finger individuals. It also allows a much firmer grip to center on holding when firing mainly with the Colt 1911s. They are constructed very well and require little work to fit and function. I recommend them to shooters with small hands who want a much better trigger feel.
Great Part... Why Buy Anything Else?(30/12/2013)
Great part that fit into my 1911 with minimal fitting. I have used other brands in the past that work well, but this Greider works equally as well. Why buy anything else?
my favorite trigger(25/11/2015)
I use this trigger with an arched mainspring housing on my kimber TLE RL. It was an easy upgrade to improve the fit in my hand. I like the looks too, but I appreciate the improvement in trigger feel and pull most. My accuracy has improved but that may be mostly "placebo effect".
The Perfect Fit.....(16/08/2010)
Only required minor (read: easy) fitting on the top and bottom of trigger shoe to get the perfect fit with little or no perceptible play vertically or horizontally. The stirrup is a little longer than the other, well known, trigger I had, so the take-up is shorter. No need to have funky "take-up adjustment tabs" like other manufacturers do. Overall, I was able to fit the short, medium and long length triggers to my 1911 in less than an hour. They're great, get all three like I did so you can switch if you are wearing gloves, etc.
Best Bang For The Buck !!(21/11/2011)

Installation on two Kimbers...(09/08/2012)
Purchased two of these guys. Compared to the stock Kimber skeleton trigger, the medium length Greider is about 2mm shorter, and about 0.4 grams heavier. Installed on a Series I and a Series II Custom Stainless. Trigger on Series II dropped right in, trigger for Series I took a few swipes from a "very coarse" arkansas stone on top and bottom. Neither needed any work done on the sides or on the trigger bow. Overall, easy installation on both, but it seems the tolerances on the trigger aren't 100% precise. Regardless, these triggers come strongly recommended. The bows are stiffer than OE, with no vertical and very little lateral play.
good trigger, great price(29/08/2012)
easy to fit, good quality. can't beat for the price.
Excellent trigger(04/09/2012)
This is a very well made trigger and I installed it in my RIA 1911 without any issues. Most companies have long or short but I wanted medium so this fit the bill perfectly. I fully expected some fitting of the shoe but it dropped into my frame without any adjustments required. It is also supplied with an allen key to adjust the over-travel screw which is already coated in a some thread-lock. Overall a very well made trigger at a great price. I will probably be running this in all my 1911's.
Excellent Part!(20/02/2010)
I purchased this for my Colt M1991A1 compact (same frame deminsions as officer model)and was very pleased with the quality of this piece.I was already happy with the trigger pull on my Colt but wanted to swap out the plastic trigger without any changes other than looks and feel. This trigger comes with a overtravel screw and allen wrench in which I did not bother to install because my trigger pull stayed the exact same as stock and this part even eliminated the little bit of slop and creep that the stock trigger had.A little grinding (due to smaller frame) of the top and bottom of the trigger and it dropped right in very easily. This part is excellent quality and adds a very nice touch to my pistol. The aluminum is a matte finish for reference.I highly recommend this part!
1911 Trigger Install(07/08/2010)
Trigger was recommended to me, by a Charter Member of the APG, as a replacement for the old Videki brand trigger. Installation was into a Kimber stainless GM frame. Polished trigger bow channel & finger pad frame mortise first with 1911 ceramic stones. Mic'd the frame mortise & finger pad on trigger---only had to remove about .002" from the top & bottom of the finger pad for a perfest gravity-drop, no wiggle fit in the frame. Very pleased with the quality of the product.
will buy again / recommend to anyone(03/09/2010)
installed in stainless 70 commander, dropped right in with perfect fit/function.did polish bow rails inside just for personal satisfaction.looks great not a high/polished finish but not a real flat mat either just nice.[...]
Great product at a great price.(21/11/2010)
I have never "gunsmithed" a 1911 before but needed a long trigger for my Colt Series 70 Gov't. I bought this product based on the reviews here and was glad I did. I Googled a Youtube disassembly video then used a reloading dial caliper to take measurements of the heighth of the Colt pad and this pad. I then divided that difference in half to determine the amount I needed to file down the top of the pad and then the bottom of the pad.I left the new pad 5/100 of an inch larger so it will have less wiggles when install. Using the file on my Leatherman, it took about 15-20 minutes to get to the dimension I wanted. I then used Q-Tip along with Breakfree CLP to clean the trigger channel. The new trigger slid in and out like it was on bearings. Very easy installation for a guy who is not very mechanically inclined.
Superb(28/12/2010)
Minor fitting on a Springfield Armory 1911A1. Great product at a reasonable price.
Great drop in trigger!(28/01/2011)
This trigger dropped into my SA GI .45 with no modification. It was slightly taller than my stock trigger which had too much slack anyway so the fit was perfect. It eliminated the trigger creep issue I was having with the stock part and the adjustment screw made the adjustment a breeze. Along with a 20lb mainspring and a new mainspring housing (both ordered from this site), I now have a tight 4lb trigger with no creep and a crisp break.
New trigger for GI Springer(29/05/2011)
Exceptionally easy install. Little polish on the bows and it slid right in pklace. Nice crisp break , better the factory, and next to no adjustment needed with takeup screw.
Great Part(27/01/2012)
Minor fitting required on an officer frame Colt New Agent. The stock trigger was very sloppy in all directions. This piece was slightly taller than the opening and required some removal from both the top and bottom of the shoe. Sides and trigger bows needed no fitment modifications. The long trigger is approximately the same LOP as the factory unit. Trigger bows are slightly heavier gauge steel than the stock unit. Very happy with the results.
New Trigger for 1911A1 Mil-Spec(10/02/2012)
My first trigger, replaces the oem. Took a little bit of file work and polishing to get it to fit but once finished, it was as smooth as glass. Definitely worth the buy as it's like day & night compared with the old trigger. Haven't bought a hammer to go with this stuff yet; just haven't seen the need to replace the old spur, I kinda like it and I don't want to run the risk of having to replace the grip safety with one of those overly large beaver tails.
Eazy install(25/02/2012)
Installed on my Sprinfield armory mil-spec 1911 and I'm very happy with the outcome. Had to file down a little and then it fit like a glove. A+ Trigger.
First time this trigger did not absolutely please me. Purchased to install in a customers S&W 1911, no fitting required just dropped in with a lot of slop. Once I took a few measurements it reviled an under sized trigger with drop in tolerances, may be this one fell through the cracks as these have never let me down in the past. Thus 3 stars.
Too much Play(07/07/2012)
I installed this in my Rock Island 1911A1 Government and it was extremely sloppy. The shoe had 1/8" up/down travel and almost as much side to side. Looks good and works but the trigger is so sloppy that it rattles in the firearm when I carry/hold it.
Match Trigger?(16/07/2012)
I don't know about match trigger, I ordered 2 for my builds, both required major fitting, the first one on both the top and bottom, and the second one just on top. To me it's just a plain trigger nothing match about it, you will have to put some work into it to make it work on Caspian frames for sure, I don't know about other ones.
MY FAVORITE TRIGGER(12/08/2013)
HAVE INSTALLED THIS TRIGGER IN AT LEAST A DOZEN PISTOLS & THEY ALL NEEDED FITTING TO THE FRAME, BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE OVERSIZE TO ALLOW FITTING TO THE INDIVIDUAL FRAME. I PERSONALLY SPOKE WITH MRS. GREIDER & SHE SAID "YOU WOULD BE SHOCKED AS TO HOW MANY OF THE BIG NAMES IN PISTOLSMITHING GREIDER ACTUALLY MAKES THE TRIGGER FOR & THEN LABELS THE PACKAGING WITH THE OTHER GUYS NAME BRAND"---THUS THE PRICE OF THEIR TRIGGER IS MUCH LESS THAN THE FAMOUS NAME BRAND PRODUCTS.
Grieder 3 hole trigger(16/04/2015)
I installed the Greider 3 hole trigger on my Citadel 1911A1 FS. It is oversized for custom fitting, after fitting it to my 1911, it was a perfect fit and smooth action. Zero movement left or right or up and down. I would highly recommend this trigger.
trigger was too small(28/09/2017)
I purchased this to replace the stock trigger in a Springfield loaded that was produced in Imbel. I have done several others but this is my first Imbel made gun. The trigger dropped right in, no fitting required. While it reduced much of the vertical slack there is still more than id prefer. I wish this came with more meat so I could get a proper fit.
Good Solid Trigger(04/11/2009)
I have used the long solid trigger for years on my custom guns. No bells and whistles, just a quality trigger that allows me to get the trigger as I want it. Just enough "oversize" to allow proper fitting.
