Makes a great pistol even better(18/03/2014)
This is a fairly easy install if you know your way around the trigger group of a P220. YouTube has many videos but many of them deal with the wide channel models like the 227 or the 226 and, yes this kit is easier to install on those because there are less steps involved. The P220 requires a new safety lever (included) to be installed. The trigger group must be removed to gain access to the por on the tight side of the frame. once open the sear, spring and lever install with no effort. Patience is the key and do not force anything. Just work the pins and they will go in. This is a great kit. And access to a Sig Tool or screwdriver with a small v notch will really help with unseating and reseating the sear spring. The tool is also available at Brownells...That's where I got mine.
Great upgrade!(30/07/2016)
Great upgrade part that all Sig's should come with already installed from the factory. This part will also fit the P226/P229 as well, you just won't need the decocker lever.
Fantatic(10/03/2014)
My relationship with my P229 was beginning to suffer after spending more time with my Glock 19 lately and getting very accustomed to the shorter reset. After installing and function checking this in my Sig, I don't think I could be any happier with the results. A great product from Sig, I just wonder why they don't install this in them straight from the factory. If this were in my P226, I wouldn't have traded it for a Glock 17.
Sig 226 SRT(23/08/2014)
I have owned several 226's with out the SRT. I acquired a Sig 226 ELITE SRT. I could not believe the difference in the SRT fire control group and the basic FCG. I was a Sig Armorer during my 30 years as LEO. The SRT was being introduced about the same time i retired. My 239 9mm is too old to change over without having to do some machining to the frame. I believe the SRT system is a safety positive, you can more accurately control your shots and recover for follow-up shots. Works well in the 226 for me, I have big hands and short fingers. I can place my trigger finger in the correct position on the trigger without twisting my hand around to make it fit me. The CON; It is NOT standard on every Sig 200 series pistol. I had a Sig 229 SAS SRT 40 cal. Dumped it because it was a 40, no other reason.
This will fit a P227 perfectly!(08/04/2015)
I have this on all my Sigs. While not listed for the P227 it does fit perfectly and works just as it is supposed to.
Excellent upgrade for older Sigs(24/04/2015)
Sig's SRT (Short Reset Trigger) kits are an excellent upgrade - bringing older pistols up to the newest factory features. The SRT drastically reduces the trigger release travel before resetting - enabling much faster follow-up shots with far less trigger travel.
One word of caution, installation requires comprehensive disassembly & reassembly of small parts and springs; this IS NOT for the casual shooter to attempt on their own.
Now I need to add this to all my Sigs(10/11/2015)
Much better then expected. I added it to my 226, but not my 228. I took both to the range to see if I noticed much difference. There is a big difference during rapid fire. MUCH easier to do rapid strings. I will be adding this to every Sig I own now.
The Change was phenomenal(13/10/2017)
Apparently Polymer frames are so popular that lots of Law Enforcement are trading their guns in to get Sig P320's. I bought a "Sig Certified Previously Owned" P229 for 1/3 retail. I swear it's a new/unfired gun probably returned by Alabama LE. (Serial number is "AL 60 9XX") Anyway, to reset the trigger your finger virtually had to hit the front of the trigger guard. After ~ 1/2 hour of yelling expletives, I got it into place and now the reset is around 1/8" max. It came in .40 S&W but I've got .357 Sig, and a 9mm ported barrels for it, and the Sig 22 conversion kit. The 16 rd 9mm version is only FANTASTIC after installing this kit. Oh, installing it doesn't require a Doctor of Gunsmithing, but it is VERY frustrating trying to get the new sear into place.
